Januar is a fintech startup on the rise, and we’re looking for a Head of Talent Acquisition to scale our team.

Do you have an aptitude for strategic thinking - and love to be hands-on?

We are looking for a Head of Talent Acquisition to help set our startup team up for scaling. You will be recruiting for a broad range of roles at all levels - with an overweight of technical roles - and you will be entrusted with the primary ownership of the full talent acquisition cycle, including everything from developing strategies and testing new approaches to scheduling interviews and creating compensation packages.

You will cooperate with and formally report to our Head of People & Culture. As the hiring pace increases, you will help build the People team.

How will you contribute to the team?

You will get the opportunity to apply your experience in full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition, meaning that you will be expected to contribute with strategic recommendations, practical advice, as well as hands-on execution.

You will be in charge of planning and executing all hiring processes, and at the same time build a solid foundation for our future recruitment efforts. 

This could include researching and implementing IT tools, establishing relationships with external partners, formulating strategies and principles that reflect our culture and growth ambitions, planning employer branding strategies, etc.


A wide range of responsibilities and learning opportunities

The below is a comprehensive list of areas that need attention at some point - we don’t expect you to master all of them to begin with, but let us know which areas you excel in and enjoy the most, so we can create the best possible match :-)

Create our talent acquisition strategy

  • Analyse hiring needs and provide hiring forecasts, incl. budgets
  • Formulate short- and long-term hiring vision and strategy
  • Provide advice on recruitment methods and techniques
  • Create and execute plans for using a variety of recruitment channels, e.g. LinkedIn, job boards, or events
  • Determine and measure recruiting KPIs
  • Measure the effectiveness of our recruitment to avoid bottlenecks and continuously improve our approach

Build and maintain a candidate pipeline

  • Analyse candidate market and adapt hiring strategies to market trends
  • Proactively and empathetically engage with existing and potential candidates
  • Conduct sourcing and networking for hard-to-fill roles
  • Spot chances to hire amazing people for roles we didn’t even think of yet
  • Create a recruitment experience that is motivating for candidates and create great ambassadors

Lead our hiring processes

  • Work with hiring managers to discuss needs and job requirements
  • Advise hiring managers on which candidates would best match/complement their team
  • Implement best practice for our ATS (Teamtailor) and maybe other tools, e.g. Linkedin Recruiter
  • Design, plan and execute selection processes (CV screening, schedule and conduct interviews, support managers with advice and practical help, review applications, send rejections and invitations, etc.)
  • Plan and perform background checks
  • Manage negotiation processes (compensation, offers, and contracts)

Employer branding

  • Plan and implement measures for improving the candidate experience
  • Design and lead employment branding initiatives
  • Enable employees to be brand ambassadors and implement employee referral incentives

Skills and experience that will help you succeed

  • Proven experience in full-cycle talent acquisition and recruiting, maybe from scaleups in the finance/fintech sector
  • Ability to quickly understand the requirements for different roles and handle multiple job requisitions simultaneously
  • Experience with crafting the right job ad to attract the right candidates
  • Familiarity with a variety of search and selection methods
  • Ability to structure the recruitment flow and prioritise tasks to continuously adapt to business needs and improve the candidate experience
  • Track record of sourcing candidates for technical positions across front- and backend, e.g. via StackOverflow, Github, networks, and social media
  • Experience with ATS, Sourcing and Recruitment Marketing tools
  • Knowledge of Danish employment law

  • An interest in cryptocurrencies is a plus, but no experience in the field required

What is Januar? 

In short, our goal is to bridge bitcoin and banking. Currently, we enable access to bank accounts for cryptocurrency businesses, as the first step on our journey to build the gateway between crypto and fiat.

Our recruitment process

We review applications on an ongoing basis and invite all suitable candidates for a brief initial call with our Head of People & Culture, where you’ll learn a bit more about Januar and how we work. 

If there is still mutual interest, we will set up an interview with the hiring manager, so you can learn more about the specific job at hand. We might give you a small assignment that we can talk about in a second interview.
