The role

We are looking for a Head of Operations to oversee daily customer activities across Januar.

You will have the opportunity to build out your team of experts, handling financial transactions, customer inquiries and compliance checks.

Responsibilities of the Head of Operations include implementing policies, designing procedures and executing on operational procedures. Ultimately, you’ll ensure that our daily operations run smoothly and that customers are taken good care of.

You should be a responsible leader with an analytical and strategic mind and have a broad knowledge of operating a complex business.

As Januar is scaling, you will be able to have a great impact on the way we do business with our customers.

  • Formulate the operational strategy with others in the executive team
  • Implement efficient processes and standards
  • Coordinate customer service operations and find ways to ensure customer retention
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws (e.g. regulatory compliance and data protection) with your legal colleagues
  • Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout Operations
  • Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts
  • Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement
  • Report on operational performance and suggest improvements


  • Proven experience as Head of Operations, Operations Director or similar leadership role
  • Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain, and IT
  • Experience with implementing IT systems
  • Aptitude for creating and maintaining structure and processes
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
  • Flair for numbers and financial planning
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership capabilities
  • Problem-solving mindset

Aligning expectations

  • We expect you to have a keen interest in finance and cryptocurrency, but no pre-knowledge is required
  • The main goals for the first few months will be running the daily operations based on our current Operations Manual
  • Within 6-12 months, we expect the Operations team to have grown to 4-5 people


    Starting date

    We are evaluating incoming applications and doing interviews on a running basis, with the earliest start date being January 5, 2022.

    What is Januar? 

    In short, our goal is to bridge bitcoin and banking. Currently, we are in the early stages of building a Bitcoin product for financial institutions in Denmark. 

    Further down the road, we aim to enable access to bank accounts for cryptocurrency businesses, building the gate between crypto and fiat money.

    We base our business on trust and transparency, as well as solid expertise and experience in finance and crypto. We’re not all crypto experts, but we expect you to be curious and willing to both share your knowledge and learn from your colleagues.

    We’re a team of 14 now, and we expect to grow noticeably in size over the coming months.
