Januar is a fintech/crypto startup on the rise, and we’re looking for an Operations Manager who will handle day-to-day activities, with a focus on onboarding customers and overseeing the daily transactions flow.

Your responsibilities

As our Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of friendly and efficient customer service, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations, and supporting the implementation of new technology that supports and optimises our processes. 

The role is very hands-on, with day-to-day operational tasks from the get-go.

You will be placed in the heart of Januar, reporting to our new Head of Operations. You will need to demonstrate a high level of work ethics and naturally apply critical thinking when evaluating potential customers. You must be committed to customer success and compliance!

Ultimately, you’ll ensure that our daily operations run smoothly and that customers get a good experience when doing business with Januar.

These are some of the tasks you can expect:

  • Take part in customer service operations
  • Pay attention to compliance with local and international laws (e.g. regulatory compliance and data protection) in collaboration with you colleagues in Legal
  • Support the implementation of technology solutions to improve our processes and productivity
  • Provide feedback from customers to the Product team
  • Implement new processes and procedures as they are developed


  • Proven experience from a similar role
  • Fluent in Danish and English
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Analytical mind
  • Experience with implementing IT systems

Our expectations

  • We expect you to have a keen interest in finance and cryptocurrency, but no pre-knowledge is required
  • The main goals for the first few months will be running the daily operations based on our current Operations Manual
  • Within 6-12 months, we expect the Operations team to have grown to 4-5 people
  • We are open to remote work to a certain extent, but it is a requirement that you live in Denmark (or are planning to move here at your own expense)

Starting date

We are evaluating incoming applications and doing interviews on a running basis, with the earliest start date being January 1, 2022.

What is Januar? 

In short, our goal is to bridge bitcoin and banking. Currently, we enable access to bank accounts for cryptocurrency businesses, as the first step on our journey to build the gateway between crypto and fiat.

We base our business on trust and transparency, as well as solid expertise and experience in finance and crypto. We’re not all crypto experts, but we expect you to be curious and willing to both share your knowledge and learn from your colleagues.

We’re a team of 25 now, and we expect to grow noticeably in size over the coming months.

Our recruitment process

We review applications on an ongoing basis and invite all suitable candidates for a brief initial call with our Head of People & Culture, where you’ll learn a bit more about Januar and how we work. 

If there is still mutual interest, we will set up an interview with the hiring manager, so you can learn more about the specific job at hand. We might give you a small assignment that we can talk about in a second interview.
